Welcome to iAcademy at Athens Elementary School! I hope as you visit this website, you will learn about what makes Athens Elementary School such a special place. We are a community of learners who truly care about each other!

My love for learning started early as a student in Decatur, AL where I grew up. During my time as a college student at Vanderbilt University I felt the call to become an educator and have loved it ever since! I began my career as a teacher and coach in Atlanta, Georgia and eventually found my way back home with my family to North Alabama about 14 years ago!  During my time in Athens I have taught many courses at Athens High School, served as an instructional partner and as an assistant principal at Athens Middle School.  I even worked as preschool director at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church! I was also able to continue my own learning journey by earning my Masters degree in instructional leadership from Georgia State University and my Educational Specialist degree from the University of West Alabama.  My children, who are 13 and 16, have both attended Athens City Schools their whole school career and my husband works as a teacher, coach, and bus driver for Athens Middle School! It's safe to say that we love Athens!

We love to travel, especially RV road trips to national parks and landmarks around the United States!  I love to read and spend time with my family and friends outdoors. Sports are a big part our life and I love watching my children compete and grow as athletes.  Many nights we can be found cheering on a variety of Golden Eagle teams in and around North Alabama!

As principal of iAcademy, I look forward to being a difference maker in the lives of our students and our school community!
